Luca Ferrarini was born on July 5, 1963 in Castiglione delle Stiviere (MN).

Basic dates

16 luglio 1982 scientific diploma at "Liceo Scientifico Statale M. Curie with grade 58/60. 

10 giugno 1988 laurea degree in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (summa cum laude). Thesis title: "Dynamic Analisys and control of the rapid start-up of a Benson boiler".

5 luglio 1990 Specialization degree, from CEFRIEL School, in Information Technology in the of Industrial Process Control systems.

1990 laurea prize "Prof. GIORGIO QUAZZA" from Politecnico di Milano.

22 dicembre 1993 Visiting Research Fellowship for 6 month research at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan (Prof. M. Araki Lab.).

1990-1998 Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano.

1998-present Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano.

Basic Scientific Results

5 Italian Patents in the design and testing of control and automation systems of industrial processes. Two of them have been extended to European level.

President of ANIPLA, Associazione Nazionale Italiana Per L'Automazione (National Italian Association for Automation), Milan section, for 2001-2002.

Proposed upgrade (by IEEE Control System Society) to Senior Member of IEEE.

Author of more than 80 papers, icluding national and international conferences, national and international journals, and book chapetrs. He is also author of didactic books for university students (full list of papers and contributions).
